Personality: Sly and witty, very outgoing; is a fighter, and likes to rile others up. She is compassionate and cares deeply for those that she has become close with, and will fight to the death for them, while on the outside, she'll tease them and be aloof, not showing that she cares at all.

Love Interest: Hunk

Friends: Shiro, Lance

Rivals: Allura

Bio:
Her name is Yar'Oz, from the planet Jirati, and is part of a weak species that is hunted by the larger, interplanetary species for their quills, that are used to make weapons because of their strength and durability. They are the Jirati people's natural protection, but Yar'Oz was taken when she attempted to fight back against their attackers, and they kept her for her quills to be harvested as they grew. Little did they know, that after years of growing them, then cutting them off, they do not grow back. They stay the length they are cut. That's why hers are so short in comparison to her people. Without her quills, she is useless to them, so they leave her on an unknown planet where she is found by an intergalactic police group. She has contracted a disease, but they are able to cure her, only leaving her with her discolored arm. Had they waited longer the bacteria would have eaten through her skin and the rest of her body. They return her to her home planet, but they are fearful that she could infect them and destroy them, so they banish her, and she returns to the police crew, and they teach her to defend herself, and to hone the natural powers her people possess.
She is determined to take revenge on those who captured and mutilated her, and joins the police crew. However, after they refuse to go after her attackers, she destroys the crew and steals their ship. This becomes a pattern as she gets stranded and gets help from unsuspecting pilots and their crews, and she starts to become known as a space pirate. On board one of the many ships she captures, she meets a scientist who has engineered a creature that could help her. She steals the egg containing this creature before destroying this crew and continuing her journey. After many months she eventually stows on board Allura's castle/ship, and meets the paladins. She tells them that she's had a hard life, and just needs a rest. She tells each of them a different story about her past in hopes to relate to each of them, after learning of the lions, to find out their weaknesses in order to get rid of them. But as she gets to know them, she realizes she is wrong, and wants to tell them the truth, but that's also the same time they learn that she's a pirate who has killed many crews in her past, and have quickly made up their mind about her. They hold her captive, and she goes willingly, trying to prove that she no longer wants to hurt them. During her stay, she had gotten close with Hunk, seeing how emotionally open he was, and he was able to hatch the egg with the kindness she wasn't able to show it, and she envies that. Because the creature bonds with Hunk, she dubs it N'ka, a Jirati word for 'loved one,' because it was born of kindness and love. She also jokes that Hunk is her baby daddy and that N'ka is their child together. Hunk visits her in captivity, where she breaks down and tells him the truth of her past, because she has no reason to lie anymore. He is able to convince the others that she needs their help and has abandoned her plans after meeting them and opening herself up to love.

The Jirati people are a weak, peaceful species by their own choice. In addition to heightened senses like taste and smell, they possess a set of unique powers that were kept hidden from their children for generations to keep peace, but it resulted in no one knowing how to use them now. Their quills grow in a rainbow of colors over years of time. After being imprisoned and mutilated, she becomes hardened, and is no longer kind and weak like the Jirati people, which is what leads to them being slaughtered for their quills.

She is boisterous and outgoing to cover up the pain of losing her identity and her family, and that she blames herself for it. She enjoys the attention she gets from Lance, and often eggs it on, though never intending on letting him get anywhere. She envies and respects Hunk for being able to be kind and open, but also being able to be strong and powerful. She connects with Shiro over a shared past of being in captivity, though jokes that she's jealous that he got a cool weapon arm and all she got was a discolored, scarred arm. She claims to think Pidge is a boy, and calls her "kid." She wants to learn to pilot a ship from Keith, much to the dismay of Lance, so that she can effectively travel without crashing and hitching rides like she has been. She and Allura butt heads as Allura still doesn't trust her.

N'ka is a small cat like creature that has the ability to transform into a spaceship. She loves Corans food.

When she eventually leaves the Paladins, she re-creates the intergalactic police that helped her when she needed it, to repay her debt for betraying them and many others. In partnership with Voltron, she helps defend the galaxy with a team of people/ aliens that have no where else to go like her.
